Hi, I’m Di Rayson

I received my PhD in Theology from The University of Newcastle and hold Masters degrees in Theology (with Distinction) and Public Health.

I’ve enjoyed a varied career in Public Health and Public Policy, working in the Pacific and Northern Territory of Australia and working as a consultant researcher. I currently lecture in Public Policy, Ethics, and Ecotheology.

I now live and work on Biripi and Awabakal country in NSW, between the mountains and the ocean. I’m a cellist, singer, and gardener.

About my work

How can Christianity contribute to climate activism? How can the church understand climate change and the worsening effects of global heating? How does Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s theology help shape our thinking and action? My research and writing addresses these questions, situating religion as an important but overlooked factor in climate politics.

As a public theologian, lecturer, and preacher, I use Bonhoeffer's theology to interrogate and respond to contemporary issues and support the church.
