A small reminder

We should have so much love for this contemporary world of ours, for our fellow human beings, that we should declare our solidarity with it in its crisis as well as in its hope.

The rug—or let us say the bourgeois parquet floor—has been ruthlessly pulled out from under our feet, and we must now search for a bit of earth on which to stand.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 13 November 1928
